Having lived and worked in the Comox Valley, she understands firsthand both the incredible potential of our city and the strain placed on our local roads, utilities, and small businesses by rapid expansion.
A Practical Perspective on City Governance
Municipal government has an enormous direct impact on our daily quality of life. Trish’s approach to council decisions centers on three fundamentals:
- Asking the tough budget questions: Ensuring that every major tax dollar expenditure is backed by a clear business case and understandable maintenance plan.
- Active regional cooperation: Working constructively with the CVRD, the Town of Comox, Village of Cumberland, and provincial authorities on regional water storage, flood mitigation, and healthcare resourcing.
- Listening to residents and frontline workers: Prioritizing consultation with local business owners, first responders, and community stakeholders before enacting major policy shifts.
